DESTINATION FOR NATURE LOVERS LIVENS UP DISCOVER UUM 2016
ON .
UUM ONLINE: The exhibition that displays the greenery of UUM campus in conjunction with the Discover UUM 2016 which showcases the heritage of flora and fauna can be seen as a means of expanding the public?s knowledge about the country's natural treasures found in Sintok.
According to the Head of the Photography Unit, Mr. Shamsaimi Ezil, exhibition such as this can boost the Discover UUM programme as a medium to promote UUM as well as Visit Kedah Year 2016.
Stunning panoramic view with pretty gardens dotting the forest backdrop provides visitors with the feel of being in a forest reserve home to many untouched treasures.
Such experience can indeed be experienced during a photography session in Sintok forest, where a lake nearby provides a quiet and cozy atmosphere that will definitely give the most beautiful moments for nature lovers who go there.
"Maybe people are unaware of the beauty stored in Sintok campus that is known for its natural landscape and what we see at these sites, we describe the atmosphere by capturing them in photos.
"With this photography exhibition, the public can appreciate the beauty of the flora and fauna up close as if they were at the location where the images were captured," he said.
Obviously, photographers worked hard to shoot the best angle for the viewing pleasure of the public and so through this exhibition, a collection of images depicting the diversity of the Sintok campus beauty such as its many lakes, forests and landscapes can be witnessed by many.
The beauty of the Sintok campus can be found framed in venues such as EDC-UUM, screened during the Workshop on Product Development and Kota Setar / Langkawi / Discover UUM 2016 Preparation Packages. The workshop was organised by the Tourism Kedah, EDC-UUM and BizTalk organised by OYAGSB, recently.
According to UUM photographer Mr. Hairul Nizam Zahari, the UUM Photography team tirelessly promotes UUM to the world. The attractive photos that captured these beautiful images have since been uploaded onto the social media sites like Facebook and have received encouraging response from Malaysian and foreign netizens.
Sintok Valley possesses the earths? natural treasure of flora and fauna which are on the verge of extinction can become many of the country's tourism assets.
"The world can now see the beauty of UUM in its Facebook page, since then we have received positive response not only from within the country but the world community. Many are now beginning to enquire the location of UUM as well as expressing their desire to witness and experience the beauty of these sites first-hand," he said.
The public has the opportunity to witness the work of the UUM photographers in exhibitions which are expected to be held at the UUM Sultanah Bahiyah Library and Alor Setar soon.

Love, respect, and trust are the things we share.
We go through ups and downs, but still nothing can tear us apart.
I know you as a sister, and I will always care,
Love, respect, and trust are the things we share.
I know you as a person, I especially know you as a friend,Our friendship is something that will never end.
Right now, this second, this minute, this day,
Our sisterhood is here, is here to stay.
My friendship with you is special and true,
When we are together, we stick like glue.
When I'm in the darkness that need some light,
When you're by my side, I know things are all right.
Our friendship is so strong, it breaks down bars,
Our friendship is also bright, like the sun and the stars.
If we were in a competition for friendships, we would get a gold,
Because responsibility and cleverness are the keys we hold.
I met you as a stranger, took you as a friend,
I hope our long friendship will never end.
Our friendship is like a magnet, it pulls us together,
Because no matter where we are, our friendship will last forever!

My Hobby : Reading
This hobby got started when I was a little
girl. I liked reading novels, story books. But my parents didn't like that I
read these types of books because they thought the most important thing and the
best thing for me was to get good school results. And you know to get good
results, you have to study hard and spend time on it. Reading would be a waste
of time they thought. So I read books every night, secretly, when they had gone
to sleep.
Now I read just about anything is
available. Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would
otherwise not know. I learn about the wonders of the world, space travel, human
achievement, gigantic whales, tiny virus and other fascinating things of our
world.
The wonderful thing about reading is that I
don't have to learn things the hard way. For example, I don't have to catch a
disease to know it can kill me, I know the danger so I can avoid it. Also, I
don't have to go deep into the jungle to learn about the tiger, I can read all
aboout it in a book.
Books provide the reader with so much
information and facts. They have certainly helped me in my daily life. I am
better equiped to cope with life. Otherwise I would go about ignorantly
learning things the hard way.
So I continue to read. Apart form being
more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably.
It is indeed a good hobby."
CLEAN EATING~~
What exactly is “clean eating”?
“Clean eating” is a trend that is suddenly everywhere, but what does “clean eating” really mean? The term means to eat the best and healthiest options in each of the food groups, embracing foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy proteins. This includes staying away from junk foods and processed foods. When you are eating clean, you try to give your body the best fuel that is out there, which are foods that will keep you healthy and at a healthy weight. Clean eating is not necessarily about weight loss, but it focuses on general health.
The current craze of “cleansing” or eating only raw food or fresh juices for a set period of time is not the same as clean eating. In fact, our organs are what cleanses are bodies of toxins. The main idea is to replace processed foods, pastries, and fried foods with more fruits and vegetables. You’ll definitely feel the difference!
Clean eating can also entail looking more closely at where your food comes from. This could mean buying organic produce to avoid pesticide residue, or avoiding meat that comes from large factory farms. It is possible you might spend a little more money on high-quality meat and produce and more time preparing meals from scratch rather than heating up packaged convenience foods. But, as clean eating advocates say, it may be more expensive to eat clean and healthy, but it is an investment in your future health that you may otherwise pay for in the long run.
Here are some tips to get you started on clean eating:
- Try fresh fruits and vegetables instead of salty and sugary packaged foods to eat as snacks.
- Instead of buying blueberry yogurt with added sweeteners and less than 5% real blueberries, buy unsweetened yogurt and add your own fresh fruit.
- Try to buy meat from a farmer’s market in your area or at a grocery store, look for grass-fed meat and dairy products without hormones or antibiotics.
- Instead of margarine, try substituting it with grass fed butter or avocados to have with your whole grains or veggies.
- When you’re screaming for ice cream, save calories and fat by drinking a fruit and low-fat yogurt smoothie instead.
- If you love to savor the crunch, skip the full-fat chips and try more satisfying crunchy snacks such as pretzel chips, nuts, or whole-grain tortilla chips.
Tips for students to be excellent
Each student has a dream to become
excellent students either in education or life. They give all of their effort
to be an excellent but, perhaps fate was not on their side or them not trying
hard. There are a few tips to be excellent and students should read and
practiced it always.
1. Responsible and active
To be an excellent student, it just not
focuses on learning and doing some additional exercise. Students must take
responsibility for their learning which is attend classes, pay all of attention
during learning session and do all the tasks given. Besides, active in
classroom can also enhance the educational achievement. Active in class doesn’t
mean that you run or playing in class. It means that you give fully attention
for what your lecturer explained, think, take some note and ask question if
there was something that you not understand.
2. Educational goal
Most of excellent students have their own
goal in their study. Because of this, they can be excellent students. When we
have a goal of something that we do, we will try to get it no matter what
either it easy or difficult. Sometimes, students forget about their own goal
when study in university because they were influenced by bad elements such as
love. So, always ask yourself about what are doing here? What your main goal in
here? What you want to be in the future? And do you still want to be in old
notch??? In this way, we will always remember what we want to do at the first
place.
3. Always at the forefront
Most students are willing to spend their
money just to sit in the front row while watching the concert or other
entertainment programs. But they don’t want to sit in front when in the lecture
hall or class even though there was no charges are imposed. To be excellent
student, you should always sit in front for all learning sessions. This will
make you more understand about what has been teaches and easy for you to ask
questions. Besides, when students sit in front, it will minimize the
interference that can disrupt students.
4. Note and ask
Always provided a note that simple,
interesting, organized and most important is easy to understand. With this,
students can always do some review in everywhere because note not like book
that difficult to bring. Besides, it also can help us to remember about a few
topics. The more you use note, the more you improve.
5. Time managing
Time must be control by you not you was
controlled by time. It is because, number one problem for students is can’t
manage their time carefully. You must know to manage your time properly without
waste it for doing something not beneficial such as loitering or any unhealthy
activities. If you can manage you time properly, you can be excellent student.
6. Pray
An effort without prayer is also not bring
any effect especially for Muslim students. Both of these must combine together
so every effort that we done were blessed by him. Always do some prayer to make
our requests answered.

Dear Mr Chan
Application for the Post of Management Trainee
I am writing to apply for the post of Management Trainee, which was advertised on the Student Affairs Office notice board of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 26 November 2014.
My working experience at Lucky Star Garment Manufactory Limited improved my leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. I have fluent spoken and written English. I also have fluent spoken and written Mandarin, and can therefore work in mainland China.
Currently I am studying a B.A. in Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, graduating in 2015. Subjects which I am studying that are relevant to the post of Management Trainee include Operations Management, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Marketing and Strategic Management.
My final year project is entitled Knowledge Management Practices in HK. Carrying out this project has improved my communication skills, my leadership skills and my ability to lead and supervise subordinates effectively. I have also learned how to run a project from the planning stage to its completion.
During my studies I have held the post of Executive in the Management Society. While leading and organising Management Society activities I have improved my ability to lead and supervise subordinates effectively, ability to work under pressure and ability to work in a team environment.
Working for Wong And Lim Consulting appeals to me because it has a good reputation and it provides excellent training. Your organisation produces a high-quality service, and I can contribute to this with my leadership skills and my ability to work under pressure.

Life On Campus
Campus life is generally associated with a lot of studies, home work and examinations. Even so, as a student should participate in various activities organized or join existing clubs on campus , as we know UUM has more than 30 clubs organization. I have decided to join the association of ‘YADIM”, served as bureau of the community. Also as a member of the Global Buddies Club.
During weekends, we should take advantage of the holidays with a wide range of sports available at UUM and not only spend time with sleeping and studying. As we know UUM provides a variety of sports facilities such as futsal court, squash, tennis, climbing wall, cycling, go kart, archery, kayaking, and hiking are also on ‘top of vista’ and ‘hutan sintok’. A healthy mind comes from a healthy body. In addition, we can create new friends through common interests whenever involved in any sport, remember networking is important as a student life on campus.
When the final examination is getting closer, all students studying in earnest. The library is quite calm before has been visited by students of whole day. So that we can see who is the struggle one including me. Any club activities and sports is no longer recommended at this time because it does not want to burden students facing exams. Examination days are tough, you do not have time to play pranks, make fun, you can only study and at the most pray so that you come out with flying colours.
In short, a student’s life is all about a lot of discipline, hard woe punctuated with happy moments of fun and enjoyment. Fun increase after real hard work and you tend to enjoy more than those who had been lazy and have wasted their time. I think this period is most wonderful period, full of spontaneity, dreams and hope, not a care in the world, except for studying.
